App Annie is a Beijing-based app store analytics platform that allows developers to track statistics related to app performance across an array of platform stores: the iOS App Store, Google Play, Amazon, the Windows Store, and the Mac App Store. App Annie was founded in 2010 and has raised $22 MM in financing, including a $15 MM Series C led by Sequoia Capital.
App Annie offers four products:
App Annie Store Stats is a free service that tracks rankings movement within charts of the various platform stores, allowing users to view app rankings over time.
App Annie Analytics is a free service that allows app publishers to consolidate all of their app data — revenues, downloads, reviews, etc. — by connecting their platform store accounts to the App Annie backend. App Annie Analytics data can be accessed via a web dashboard, an API, or through e-mail alerts.
App Annie Intelligence is a paid market research product that uses the revenue and downloads data collected through App Annie Analytics to estimate install and revenue numbers across each platform store. The App Annie Intelligence report can be used to estimate the number of installs required to reach positions on Top Free Downloaded charts and the amount of revenue generated at various positions on Top Grossing charts.
App Annie Advertising Analytics is a free service similar to App Annie Analytics that is exclusive to paid app marketing (user acquisition). App Annie Advertising Analytics allows a developer to link their accounts with various mobile advertising networks to App Annie’s backend; App Annie then imports all cost and install data from those networks and consolidates it, allowing total daily spend and installs across all partner networks to be viewed in one place.
